The fundamental issue is the dynamic IP which means the has no way to find the server again if there is restart and a new IP is assigned. The only way to meet this use case is to use host names. The following changes are needed: 1) Part 12 multi-subnet use cases need to clearly state that fixed IPs and/or static DNS is required for access outside of the subnet. 2) The LDS-ME must stop stripping the .local extensions and return the URLs as they are received. Applications needs to be smart about dealing with certificate hostname mismatch issue (look at describing use cases for handing different types of host names). 3) Need a caveat that '.local' names are only useful if returned from the LDS on the same machine. Any result from remote LDSes may not be resolve-able. |
