Tim Donaldson Joins the OPC Foundation Team

Will Lead Marketing Initiatives as OPC Marketing Director

Orlando, FL ARC Forum (February 11, 2013) The OPC Foundation, dedicated to ensuring interoperability in automation by creating and maintaining open specifications announces a new Marketing Director. Tim Donaldson, a 15 year automation veteran joins the OPC team and will be responsible for leading the marketing efforts for the foundation as they continue to be the leading standard for interoperability in a multiplatform, multivendor infrastructure environment.

OPC-UA adoption, vendor certification and expanding to new markets are three key objectives for the OPC Foundation in 2013. The addition of Tim Donaldson to the talented OPC Foundation team will help drive these objectives. "I am excited to have Tim join us and I look forward to the dedication and leadership that Tim will bring to the OPC Foundation," said Tom Burke, OPC Foundation President and Executive Director. "Tim Donaldson has clearly demonstrated his outstanding commitment to the automation market, and his marketing expertise cannot be underestimated with respect to his new position of Marketing Director for the OPC Foundation.

Tim Donaldson has over 15 years experience in Industrial Automation Software marketing and sales. His vertical industry experience includes automotive, building automation, food and beverage, process manufacturing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, renewable energy and utilities. His prior employment includes Business Development and Director of Marketing for ICONICS, Product Marketing Manager at GE/Intellution and as Application Engineer at Intec Controls.
