OPC UA ISA-95 Companion Specification Release Candidate Available for Download and Comment
November 14, 2012;

The OPC Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of the OPC UA ISA-95 Companion Specification Release Candidate. This Companion Specification, which is the deliverable from the OPC UA ISA-95 Working Group, is available for download and comment by members and nonmembers at OPC UA ISA-95 Companion Specification.

The OPC Foundation OPC UA ISA-95 Working Group was chartered in January 2012 to develop a Companion Specification that describes an OPC UA Information Model for ISA-95. The Companion Specification maps the ISA-95 Information Model (resources models) to OPC UA, allowing high-speed information flow from the lowest levels of the automation hierarchy (sensors and controllers) to the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. It also allows for high-speed information flow between the various MES and ERP systems.

Suggestions and questions with respect to the OPC UA ISA-95 Companion Specification Release Candidate should be emailed directly to isa95@opcfoundation.org . The OPC Foundation is requesting comments to be received by January 15, 2013. The Companion Specification is planned to be released at the end of January 2013 to the OPC Foundation Technical Advisory Council for final review and ratification.
