OPC Foundation Launches OPC Europe:  The OPC Foundation launched OPC Europe last week in Munich, Germany. The organization's charter is to manage OPC marketing for Europe. Details are contained in the OPC Foundation Press release located here. Leading this effort are Stefan Hoppe from Beckhoff and Tino Hildebrand from Siemens.

OPC UA Part 9 - Alarms and Conditions Specification Release Candidate:  The UA Working Group is pleased to announce the availability of a completed release candidate of OPC UA Part 9 - Alarms and Conditions Specification. Members are invited to review the specification and send comments (preferably by annotating the DOC file) to the email address noted on the cover page of the specification. Please provide your comments by 2010-02-19. The latest 1.01 code downloads are compatible with this Release Candidate.

OPC UA For Devices Companion Specification Released:  The final released version of the OPC UA For Devices Companion Specification has been approved by the Technical Advisory Council and is now available for download by OPC Foundation members.

OPC Foundation Announces Board Members for 2010 - 2011:  The OPC Foundation announced the results of the election of Board of Director members for the 2010 - 2011 term at the General Assembly meeting. Reelected to the Board of Directors were Reinhold Achatz, Siemens; Thomas Burke, OPC Foundation; David Eisner, Honeywell; and Nobuaki Konishi, Yokogawa. They join Russ Agrusa, ICONICS; Ken Hall, Rockwell; and Grant Wilson, Emerson. Thanks to all members who voted and to all who participated in the election.

OPC UA For IEC 61131-3 Companion Specification Release Candidate:  The PLCopen/OPC Foundation Joint Working Group (PLC) is pleased to announce the availability of a completed release candidate of the OPC UA For IEC 61131-3 Companion Specification. Members are invited to review the specification and send comments (preferably by annotating the DOC file) to the email address noted on the cover page of the specification. Please provide your comments by 2009-12-23.

OPC Foundation Adds Express Interface (OPC Xi) to Technology Portfolio:  The OPC Foundation has added Express Interface (Xi) to the OPC Foundation technology portfolio, complementing OPC UA and COM-based OPC Classic. OPC Xi is a new interface based on Microsoft .NET Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) technology. More information can be found here.

Suppliers Unified for Field Device Integration:  To accelerate deployment of the Field Device Integration (FDI) technology, key suppliers have agreed to enlarge the scope of the EDDL Cooperation Team which will become the FDI Cooperation. More information can be found here.

	The Downloads page now allows an option to show "All" downloads. Also at the bottom of every list of downloads is an "Export" button that will save the list as an Excel spreadsheet.
2009-02-09	OPC UA SDK Release Candidate Now Available
	This is a stable release that is also a release candidate.
2008-05-28	Updated OPC UA Release Candidate Specifications
	Updated Release Candidate Specifications for OPC UA Parts 3 and 5 are available for Members to download.
2008-05-10	Core Components and .NET API Update
	Updates to the Core Components, the .NET API and the associated sample code are now available. This release includes the 64-bit versions of the proxy/stubs and fixes issues that prevented .NET API applications from running on x64 systems. All redistributable binaries and installers are now signed by the OPC Foundation.
